Snowflake Designs was founded in 1985 when a gymnastics mom (LaDonna Snow) started making leotards for her daughters. Other gym moms would ask where she got her daughter's leotards from and when they learned that she made them herself, they asked her to outfit their gymnasts as well. And just like that, in the bedroom of her family home, a business was born!

Fast forward 40 years and the daughter she was once making leotards for, Kindra Snow-Walker, is now the President of Snowflake Designs. Although we have expanded and grown over the years, our commitment to excellence never changes. Gymnastics workout leotards need to be comfortable and durable to allow gymnasts to work hard towards their goals. Gymnasts need to find workout leotards that not only fit well but that also make them feel beautiful and confident. Lucky for you, all of our workout leotards are handcrafted in the USA with the highest quality fabrics and materials. We also know what gymnastics coaches need when it comes to the functionality of workout leotards. Although super strappy and intricate styles can be fun, they are not always functional or practical for the sport of gymnastics. When styles are not functional, there is a risk of coaches getting caught in the straps while spotting, leading to coaches and/or gymnasts getting injured. With several former gymnastics coaches on our team, we take this very seriously and into great consideration with every leotard we design and we pride ourselves on keeping our leotard functional and practical.

Gymnastics competition leotards need to fit a little more snug but they should still be comfortable. Competition leotards are usually long-sleeved and much more glamorous than workout leotards. Although competition leotards are not worn as often as workout leotards, they need to be extra durable so that gymnasts feel secure and can shine like the stars they are on the floor without worrying about any wardrobe malfunctions. How to Wash A Gymnastics Leotard

Snowflake Designs gymnastics leotards are hand-crafted to withstand years of gymnastics practices and competitions. Washing and caring for your gymnastics leotards properly helps keep them looking brand new! You should never use soaps, detergents, bleach, oxygenated cleaners or any other cleaning products on gymnastics leotards. We suggest using salt water as it deodorizes and sanitizes gymnastics leotards. You should also never put gymnastics leotards in the dryer. They should be hung on plastic hangers to air dry.

What you need to Wash Gymnastics Leotards:

A sink or large bowl
Cold water
Table salt
A Towel
A plastic hanger

How to Wash Gymnastic Leotards:

Fill your sink or bowl with cold water and add a handful of table salt to the water. Stir the water and salt combination.
Place your gymnastics leotard into the mixture and knead the leotard gently. DO NOT RUB THE FABRIC TOGETHER OR LEAVE THE LEOTARD TO SOAK! This will make the gymnastics leotard lose its sparkle or shine.
Drain the sink or bowl and fill it with fresh cold water.
Rinse the gymnastics leotard well in the fresh cold water.
After rinsing it, lay the gymnastics leotard flat on a towel and roll it up to get rid of excess water.
Then hang up the leotard to dry.

How to Measure for Gymnastics Leotards

The best way to ensure that you order the best-fitting leotard is to measure your gymnast properly. You will need to measure the chest, waist, hips, and girth. For the most accurate measurements, do not wear any baggy clothing. We recommend wearing what you normally wear to the gym, such as a leotard or form-fitting clothing. When measuring, make sure the measuring tape is parallel and straight against your gymnast for the most accurate measurements.
