Questions and Answers From Snowflake Designs
In the past we've asked all of you to tell us your burning questions about Snowflake Designs. I sat down with the owner of Snowflake Designs, LaDonna Snow, to answer some of those questions. So without further ado, here are the answers to some of the questions that you guys have been dying to ask us!
Q: How long have you been creating leotards?
A: I have been creating leotards for at least 50 years!
Q: What made you start a leotard company?
A: I started making leotards because I couldn’t find any cute leotards for my daughter. Every leotard I saw was made for ballet and only in the colors black and pink. I began making them myself, and the other gym moms loved them and requested leotards of their own. A business was born!
Q: What did your first leotard design look like?
A: The first leotard I ever made was turquoise with pink stripes and puffy sleeves.
Q: What is your all-time favorite leotard print?
A: My favorite leotard design was one called "Peace Out". It had cute peace signs on the fabric, and the back was cut to look like a peace sign.
Q: How many leotard prints have you made in total?
A: Snowflake Designs has probably made thousands of leotard designs, if not more!
Q: What’s your favorite memory from all the years you have been in business?
A: I get excited every time I see a gym wearing our leotards at a meet! I was so excited to see the University of Kentucky recently in our designs.

It was so much fun answering some of your questions! We loved sharing our history and memories with you all. It’s amazing to look back to the beginning of Snowflake Designs and see just how far we’ve come in over 35 years. We’re so thankful that we get to do what we love every day: design beautiful leotards to help gymnasts look and feel their best in the gym!
