Snowflake Designs Expands to Acrobatic Gymnastics
Acrobatic gymnastics is one of the oldest sports in the world, but it was new to Snowflake Designs in 2016. LaDonna Snow, CEO of Snowflake Designs, was introduced to acrobatic gymnastics a while back and has been blown away by every single performance she sees.
LaDonna Snow had the pleasure of taking the Snowflake Designs team to the Central Coast Gymnastics' SLO Acrobatic Spectacular in San Luis Obispo, California. We watched and met 180 young athletes from across the state competing in Competitive Acrobatics, or "acro" - a combination of dance, tumbling, and partner stunts performed in pairs or groups on a spring floor.
About Acro Gymnastics
Acrobatic Gymnastics is an ancient activity that emphasizes the combined beauty of dance and acrobatics. Gymnastics skills add excitement to the routines. Choreography and synchronization add flare and creativity to each exercise.
Acrobatics is practiced and competed as Men's Pairs, Women's Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Women's Groups (3) or Men's Groups (4). Athletes progress through recreational levels (1-3) to compulsory Ievels (4-7), then to optional levels (8-elite).
