College Gymnastics teams qualify to compete at Regional Championships based on NQS.

(NQS = National Qualifying Score, this is determined by taking a team's top 6 scores, 3 of which have to be from away meets, dropping the highest score, and averaging the remaining 5 scores.)

The top 36 college gymnastics teams based on NQS are selected for Regionals.

The NCAA selection committee seeds the top 16 teams out among the 4 locations.

Teams ranked 1st, 8th, 9th and 16th are at one location. Teams ranked 2nd, 7th, 10th, and 15th are at one location. Teams ranked 3rd, 6th, 11th, and 14th are at one location. And teams ranked 4th, 5th, 12th, and 13th are at one location. Teams ranked 17-36 are placed geographically.

There are 3 days of gymnastics competition at Regional Championships.

The top 28 teams automatically compete on day 2 of Regionals whereas the bottom 8 teams have to compete on day 1 against another bottom 8 team. The winner of this duel advances to the second session on day 2.

On day 2, there are two sessions, and the top 2 scoring teams from each session advance to day 3.

On day 3, the top 2 scoring teams advance to the NCAA Semifinal Championships.

2023 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships take place April 13 - 15.

Overview:

Day 1: two bottom 8 teams go against each other. Winner advanced to day 2.

Day 2: two sessions, each with 4 teams competing. Top 2 teams from each session advance to day 3.
