Rose
Rose is 11 years old and a level 8 gymnast, training for level 9. She is the definition of a hard-working gymnast who never gives up.
Rose's work ethic is admirable, she is always pushing herself to get better. She is always one of the first in the gym and the last to leave. She takes corrections very well and is a very coachable athlete. When she is asked where she would like her gymnastics career to go, she says, "I am just going to do my best and see what happens." Although, she would love to compete as an elite gymnast and after attending some college gymnastics meets, she would love to be a college gymnast one day. She loves how much fun the college teams have competing and cheering each other on.
Her favorite events are bars and beam. Rose scored a perfect 10 on bars and 9.975 on the floor at the 2021 Gold Nationals! This year, she broke her foot at the beginning of her level 8 competition season. However, she did not let that stop her! She not only competed at the last meet of the season and passed the mobility score to move up to level 9, but she also placed 3rd on the beam, and 4th on the floor and qualified for the NC State Meet. At the NC State Meet, she tied for 3rd on beam and qualified for Regionals!
Rose is not only an exceptional gymnast, but she is also an amazing teammate. She is always cheering her teammates on, clapping, and giving lots of hugs and high-fives. Her coaches say that she is one of the most polite kids that they have ever met. Also, one of the most flexible!
Outside of gymnastics Rose is a beautiful artist. She has an extensive portfolio of gorgeous hand-drawn leotard designs! Although she is often modeling her gymnastics leotards for photo shoots, she is also a very talented photographer. She recently hosted a table at a craft fair and sold some of her photography and handmade creations.
Rose's talents do not stop there, she is also a fantastic baker! She often bakes delicious cakes and cookies for her friends and family.
In addition to gymnastics, every year Rose tries a couple of new activities. In the past couple of years, Rose has enjoyed learning taekwondo, yoga, trampoline, swimming, fencing, horseback riding, soccer, piano, singing, acting, and currently, she is doing ice skating. Rose loves trying new activities and learning new skills, discovering new talents, and making friends with different interests.
One of Rose’s biggest challenges is being so hard on herself. She, like many competitive gymnasts, can be a perfectionist. She is highly aware of all the fine details and how she can improve, but she sometimes has to be reminded to pat herself on the back, appreciate her success, and enjoy the process.
When Rose grows up, she would like to be a photographer, a gymnastics coach, and gym owner, and own a gymnastics leotard store featuring her collection of leotard designs.
Rose encompasses all of the qualities that we value here at Snowflake Designs. Her dedication and love for the sport of gymnastics will take her very far in gymnastics and life. We could not be happier to have Rose represent Snowflake Designs and love following her gymnastics journey!
