Snowflake Designs Wins Family Business Award in 2016

We were honored to receive the Institute for Family Business Rising Star Award in 2016 for outstanding family businesses that haven't quite yet been passed through generations. We are so proud to be a family-owned business and it meant so much to our family just to be nominated.

When LaDonna Snow, CEO, stood at the podium while accepting the award, she knew the exact story that she would tell. Yes, she began this business entirely because her daughter Kindra was in gymnastics and she wanted to make her custom leotards so that her daughter would stand out at every competition. And yes, over thirty years later her daughter and her son-in-law work alongside LaDonna and Rick Snow every single day.

But there is one moment in particular when she knew that Snowflake Designs would be a family business for a very long time.

LaDonna has two beautiful and amazing granddaughters. One day, her oldest granddaughter, Evaleigh, was asked to draw what she wanted to be when she grew up and this is what she drew:

Snowflake Design's granddaughter hoping to work for the family business one-day

"It’s impossible not to tear up when I think about my small grandchildren someday taking over the business that I started over thirty years ago. I started this business for my family and I’m so excited for the day little Evaleigh is the boss. Part of me can’t imagine a day when my world doesn’t revolve around making beautiful leotards for gymnasts across the world. And although the day when I’m not at Snowflake Designs is a VERY long way off, I know that my family will keep you all in good hands," said LaDonna Snow.
